TRIA supports the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in its scientific and technological research activities.
TRIA has made its fire resistance testing furnace available to IST to support scientific and technological research activities to develop innovative solutions in various fields of engineering, science, technology and architecture.
The furnace provided by TRIA allows simulated fire tests to be performed using thetime-temperature curve defined in ISO 834.
This equipment has been used to support the scientific study on the fire behavior of certain building materials and systems used in urban and industrial buildings, as well as the development of new solutions for the fire protection of those materials and systems.
Aware of the importance of development of scientific knowledge for its activity, TRIA establishes a reciprocal relationship with educational and research institutions, bringing the practical knowledge of those who deal with fire protection issues on a daily basis, helping to deepen the scientific knowledge about the areas where it operates and drawing on this knowledge the teaching for the operationalization of the best practices to implement in the market.
